A Man Who does a little bit of everything
A snippet of Keith
I remember I was late for the audition. I wasn't even sure I wanted to do it, at the time. My elementary school was putting on "Charlotte's Web" through a city outreach program and my parents thought it'd be fun for me to do it. When I arrived at the theater room, they had already auditioned most of the kids, and were now bringing up the last group. I quickly filled out an audition form and joined the small line of kids on the stage in front of the director and stage manager. They handed me a couple of lines to read, and I put everything I had into that read. The next day, they announced the parts, and I had been given the role of Wilbur, the lead. I had such a good time doing that show, I knew I needed to be involved in this for the rest of my life.
Yes, I know that was back in elementary school, but it set me up for my love of acting and film. I've been a performer my whole life, always looking for an opportunity to put on a show or be in a show. I'm the crazy one, the excited optimistic friend, the energetic enthusiast who wants everyone to be happy. And nothing puts a smile on my face like making others smile through my performance and antics. Even with an engineering degree, I've managed to keep up my theater participation. This is in my blood, it's my personality, it's who I am!
Whether on stage or behind a camera, I want to be involved. I've always been more excited about the behind-the-scenes features on DVD's than the actual movie because I want to see how it was made, what the actors did for their roles, etc. I hope to be involved in this for the rest of my life. At the end of the day, I'm just trying to do what I love.
